The last sunset of the year, not a midnight party
Most New Year's Eve boats on the Bosphorus sell a late-night evening with dinner and a party. Vesper's 31 December is the quieter version: the golden hour on the strait, with the skyline turning gold between the palaces and the bridges, on a boat shared with nobody you did not invite.
The sun sets at about 17:44 that day, a few minutes later than the earliest sunset of the year in mid-December. If you would rather stay on the water after dark, say how many hours you want and we quote the longer charter.

- Leave early. Central Istanbul is crowded that evening and some waterfront streets can close, so a taxi may be slow. Karaköy has its own stop on the T1 tram, and ferries from the Asian side dock there too.
- Will it be cold on deck?
- Yes, a December evening on the Bosphorus turns cold once the sun is down. Bring a warm coat, and a hat or scarf if you plan to stay outside.
